Citi’s Digital Banking
Citi has unveiled its latest app, designed specifically for the Kindle Fire- the first banking app for the device. The app includes the same functionality as Citi’s offerings for other devices including the iPhone and iPad—allowing customers to view account data online, transfer money and pay bills.
This week, the bank also introduced its mobile check deposit system and the instant transfer system, Popmoney. The app enables Citi customers to transfer money to other’s accounts through their Smartphone or tablet. To make the transfer, customers only need the account details and phone number of the recipient.
In Asia, Citibank Singapore has launched the first credit card in the country to integrate social networking as part of its core features. The new ‘Clear Platinum Card’ will allow customers to tailor their card experiences and rewards every month. ‘Clear.24.7’ is the virtual community built around the credit card and hosted on the Citibank Facebook page. Online members are rewarded for ‘checking in’ and for sharing card benefits with online friends. Citi believes that engaging customers through social media platforms suits their new online lifestyles. Citi’s aim is to be the world’s premier digital bank.
